Due to a busy week I wasn’t able to complete a message on Sunday 11th October, I hope no one was refreshing their emails waiting for it to come through 😊. Not to worry though this week is a double, just explaining some of the things I have been up to over the past two sets at work.
Further to some multi agency meetings, dealing with drunks, patrolling and investigations, I have been out and about: On Tuesday 6th a community resolution was completed with a male in our area. They have had to attend a victim awareness course and understand how their behaviour can affect others.
Thursday 8th I assisted in a warrant In Stourport. This was successful with two arrests made by myself and a colleague. This was brilliantly organised and lead by CID. This is still an ongoing investigation at this time.
Sunday 11th Telford protest, I was part of the prisoner handling team. It was great news I wasn’t required; the protest was peaceful and occurred without incidents. This being said I was supporting our Telford officers and not back and off duty until late…. Meaning the Neighbourhood Matter Message (NHM) didn’t get sent.
I have started this set with a person in custody who has been causing a lot of anti social behaviour for Oldington, Foley and Sutton Park. They have been bailed at this time to prevent them from behaving in the same manner. This is an ongoing investigation at this time and I’m working closely with other agencies.
I have also been dealing with missing and vulnerable people in the area some being children and some adults requiring support for one reason or another. People are sometimes apologetic about calling the police for missing people or vulnerable people they have concerns about, thinking that it isn’t a police matter. Police are here to help people in need and preventing harm, not just to arrest. I was happy on this occasion to attend and I explained that. Just think who is the most appropriate agency, be it Police, Fire or Ambulance. Remembering that other support is out there like your GP and Mental Health support Crisis Team and CAMHS.
Me and the team are still trying to tackle the motorbikes and scooters that are causing ASB in the area. You may have seen some messages sent out by the team. I would like to ask again, if anyone sees or knows anything about these people to let us know. Names and addresses would be helpful. Remember you can call 101 or reply to these messages, giving as much or little information about yourselves as you feel comfortable with. You can always contact Crime Stopper to be anonymous: Giving information anonymously | Crimestoppers Tel- 0800 555 111
Halloween quickly approaching, my next full message will be very close to Halloween so thought I would mention it now. If you want any advice or support, or know someone who would, then please let us know. It is important that adults always accompany children while out trick or treating. Don’t knock on doors of strangers or elderly unless pre arranged. Importantly don’t knock on doors with signs asking you not to. I have attached a little poster as a reminder of how to stay safe and a poster requesting no one knock.
I hope you all have been safe the past two weeks and keep warm over these dark colder nights. I will be back in work on Monday 26th October 2026 and will be around for the week. Please contact us if you have any questions or need some support. DON’T FORGET THE CLOCKS GO BACK ON Sunday, 25 October 2026 at 02:00
I will leave you with some fun facts:
Today is Back to the Future Day – This is because it’s the exact date that Marty McFly, Dr. Emmett Brown, and Jennifer Parker travel to in the DeLorean time machine in the 1989 movie Back to the Future Part II.
Today is also Apple Day – a Day celebrate Apples which has been going since 1990. To help with he day: UK numbers: Britain boasts more than 2,500 distinct apple varieties. Global numbers: There are over 7,000 known varieties worldwide. Heritage types: Famous British cultivars include the Bramley Seedling (introduced around 1857), Cox's Orange Pippin, Ashmead's Kernel, and Blenheim Orange.
